The Pack Pullers are a part of the NCSU student branch of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) that compete in the ASABE 1/4 scale tractor student design competition. The 1/4 scale tractor competition is a way for agricultural and biological engineers to exhibit their design and fabrication experience in a competitive environment.
Competition Overview:
  • International competition among college students
  • Tractors are designed and built entirely by students
  • Judging is based upon a written report, team presentation, tractor design, technical inspection, maneuverability, and pull performance
  • Goal is to develop a small and inexpensive tractor that can be used for recreational tractor pulls and possibly other commercial markets
